When should the roof be renovated first?
If the covering has clearly less remaining life than the planned system, renovating first is almost always the more economical choice. Removing and refitting a finished system costs scaffolding, labour, electrical work and lost yield.
- Covering older than about 30 to 40 years or heavily weathered
- Broken, slipped or porous tiles, heavy moss growth
- Damp patches or water stains in the attic
- Sagging roof areas pointing to damaged rafters or battens
- Corroded or leaking flashing around chimneys and dormers
Roof and solar from one team
We replace damaged rafters, purlins and battens, renew the covering and carry out the sheet-metal work. The solar mounting is planned at the same time, so hooks and rails sit in the right places and the roof stays watertight — with no finger-pointing between roofer and installer.
