Why solar works so well on farms
Milk cooling, ventilation in pig and poultry houses, grain drying and cold stores all draw power while the sun is up. Every kilowatt-hour used on the farm replaces bought-in electricity, which is usually the biggest lever on payback.
Machine sheds and cattle barns easily take 50 to several hundred kWp. We plan access, crane positions and working hours around feeding, milking and harvest.
Older roofs: check first, then build
Older barn roofs are often the real challenge. Before any design we look at two things: whether the structure has enough load reserve (in case of doubt a structural engineer should confirm it) and what the roof is covered with. Asbestos-cement sheets must never be drilled or used as a mounting base; they have to be removed by a licensed specialist before a new roof and the solar system go on.
